Injured Thumb

Broc Hepler will be sitting out for about six weeks after injuring his thumb in a crash last Saturday during practice. Watch for Broc to bounce back toward the end of the SX season.

SX Round 4: San Francisco

The rains fell and the mud flew last Saturday in San Francisco. With a collision right off the start, Broc Hepler struggled to restart his Yamaha. By the time he was up and running again, it was too late to catch up in the shortened 10-lap main event. He crossed the finished line in 12th.

Broc says that he's looking forward to a dry track in Anaheim this weekend. The weather looks promising so far.

Anaheim 2: Hepler on the podium

In another come-from-behind performance this weekend in the third round of AMA Supercross West, Hepler passed his way up to second place after a bad start. By the end of the race, he was quickly gaining on the leader, but ran out of time to make his move for the lead.

This is Hepler's first podium of the year, and another solid ride by the factory Yamaha rider.
Next is round 4 in San Francisco on January 26.

SX Round 2: Phoenix, AZ

It was an exciting race in the Lites class as Hepler battled for the lead with Ryan Dungey. It was back and forth until Hepler finally secured the lead, but then went down. This resulted in his taking 4th place after a hard-fought race up front.

The finish boosts Hepler to 5th in points for the year.

The next race is back in Anaheim next weekend, January 19.

2008 Anaheim I

The opening round of the 2008 AMA Supercross season took place this weekend in a very muddy Anaheim. Broc Hepler was back for his first Supercross race in two years, having sat out last year due to a severe concussion.

Hepler quickly took the lead in his heat race, but crashed after losing traction on the sloppy track. He came back to finish in 5th.

Hepler suffered a terrible start in the main race, starting in last place off the gate. He fought up to 11th by the race's end.

The series moves to Phoenix this weekend, January 12.

Glen Helen

It was the final round of the 2007 AMA MX Nationals, and Hepler pulled out a 4th overall on a long, rough track with a 5-5.

Getting off to a 3rd-place start in moto 1, a mistake sent him off the track and back to 7th. He quickly settled into 5th by the moto's end. In moto 2, Hepler's ride was strong and consistent, landing him another 5th-place finish.

Broc would like to thank all of his fans for all the support! Keep coming out to the races, and be sure to watch for Broc on the podium in the SX Lites.

Freestone MX

It was the first time the AMA Motocross Nationals came to the Freestone County Raceway in Texas, and it was Broc Hepler's best ride of the year.

Grabbing the hole shot in the first moto, Hepler settled into a comfortable second, but was overtaken on the last stretch and came away with third place. In moto 2, another fantastic start led to another third place finish, awarding Hepler with second overall, and his first overall podium for the year.

The series concludes next week in San Bernardino, CA at Glen Helen.

Steel City

Steel City
It was another up and down day for Hepler at his home track in Delmont, PA.

Qualifying 2nd in practice, Hepler's confidence showed in the first moto. He got off to a 2nd-place start and soon made the move to take the lead. A mistake a few laps later cost him a place, but he quickly made up for it and secured the lead once more, holding on for the moto win.

Moto 2 started off well as Hepler started 6th and easily passed up to 2nd, which is all he would have needed for the overall. Then back luck struck as a crash set him back to 7th, then another crash took him out of the running all together.

Next week the series travels to Texas for round 11.
